In a Nutshell
Welcome to my blog. I am Karen, a girl in my mid twenties, and I have struggled with my weight ever since graduating high school. I finally want to get healthy & fit. I want to lose roughly 23 20 kg with Weight Watchers, and recently joined a gym where I’m working on getting fit!

More About Me
I have been struggling with my weight for all of my adult life, i.e., for the past nine years.
At age 18 I weighed 65kg (143lbs) – which is now my goal weight. Over the next few years I gradually gained weight, due to lack of exercise and poor eating habits, finally reaching 89kg (196 pounds) in October 2005. Then was the first time I really realized how big I had gotten. Until then my weight wasn’t really a concern for me. I don’t know now if it was because I hadn’t realized how overweight I had gotten or because I pushed away the problem by simply ignoring it.
In October 2005 I realized I had to lose weight. I happened to come across the Weight Watchers plan, and for the following five months, I followed the plan very closely, using an-home computer program. I lost 16kg (35 pounds) over that period, and I was feeling better about my body again, despite not working out at all. However, I ended up getting sloppy about counting points, and the pounds came creeping back. Slowly, but continually. Because it went so slowly, I did not feel alarmed until I had gained 20 pounds back.
In the summer of 2007, at a weight of roughly 84kg, I started incorporating exercise in my life, realizing that it is not only important to be a healthy weight and eat healthily but also to lead a healthy and active lifestyle. Even though I never managed to commit to running for more than a few months, I have done some form of exercise, though sometimes irregularly, since then, a huge improvement for me. Over the next couple of years, I made several half-hearted attempts at losing weight again, always losing 6-10 pounds and then stopping again. They were back after a few months, sometimes accompanied by a few more.
In the beginning of December, I decided that enough was enough, and I signed up with Weight Watchers again, this time doing the program online. I have been going to the gym more or less regularly since October, doing Tae Bo twice a week. I am not perfect. I still mess up, skip the gym, eat over points on some days, but all in all, my level of fitness is going up, and my weight is going down.
My main problem is emotional eating as well as my love for chocolate and candy. Ever since my first time doing Weight Watchers, I have been pretty good at eating healthy meals. It’s the snacks that get me. That is why I usually try to stick to buying snacks that are low in points or easy to portion for me.
